Ecology of fern wealth (Pteridophyta) of Dehradun district, Uttarakhand, India

Abstract

The present paper is the outcome of field studies and examination of herbarium sheets housed in different herbaria. Ecologically the ferns of the area are divided into four major categories, which are again subdivided into the subcategories depending upon their growth, habit and habitat they occupy. The maximum no of species are found growing in terrestrial habitat whereas the epiphytic members are comparatively less in numbers.
