Borse B. D., V. R. Patil*

Abstract

The present paper deals with eleven species of Mitosporic fungi viz., Jaculispora submersa Hudson and Ingold, Mycoleptodiscus laterlis Alcorn and Sutton, Pleiochaeta setosa (Kirchn.) Hughes, Pseudorobillarda phragmitis (Cunnell) M. Morelet, Retiarius bovicornutus Olivier, Speiropsis scopiformis Kuthubutheen and Nawawi, Subulispora procurvata Tubaki,  Trinacrium subtile Riess, Tripospermum myrti (Linder) Hughes, Vanrija aquatica (Jones and Slooff) Moore, and Varicosporium elodeae W. Kegel. Conidia of these fungi were encountered in foam samples from freshwater habitats. All of these are being recorded as addition to the fungi of Maharashtra state (India). The data provides information on the distribution of these fungi in India, apart from description and illustrations.
